It seems like the capabilities of the new MacBooks raised to a new degree of usefulness as a tool.įrom my experience with modding laptops for better thermals and battery life it’s quite liberating to have a optimized system that goes from „many hours low intensity work or few hours of high intensity“ to just simply „a lot of hours of use, no matter for what“ (in an ideas world or now with the M1 it’s actually possible to reach „it just works Slogan levels“). The better battery life (well, beyond better compared to pretty much everything) is absolutely fantastic but could mean not much for the workflow itself except that the user doesn’t need to „budget“ the battery over the day anymore but simply just do the work and has enough battery life left to stay off plug for maybe even days and does not need to worry to use it for entertainment. The better keyboard are great news to accompany the mouse use.Īs for the actual M1 performance/difference I guess isn’t as easy to present a precise benchmark. At first I was sad as the video „hasn’t shown much“ but then after wondering of what I expected is wasn’t sure of how to actually present Fusion 360 on an M1.įor a pure laptop/trackpad based experience it isn’t great as you stated as using it with a mouse.
